Then tonight we hurried and made apriot chicken over rice and ran to "Mall Cop" at the dollar theatre. It was a pretty dumb movie, no wonder we always say, "Let's not do that again!" when it comes to being 'normal'.

I Can't Be Perfect or I'd Be Translated
Yesterday, Dan came over to watch the afternoon session of General Conference with me. He said that he missed some of the first session and I asked him why and he said,
"Because I got to do something like that every once in awhile. Gotta keep me on earth or I'd be translated."
General Conference & Benjamin Button
Watched General Conference with Daniel at my apartment. I made pumpkin cookies. While Dan went to priesthood, I went with Stevens to Robert's Crafts for Girls Night Out. Then we had cake and ice cream at Stevens. On the way home, I grabbed tickets for "Benjamin Button" and went to Dan's before we went to the bookstore to look for a new journal for me. Then we got drinks at the store and ran to the movie. The movie was 3 hours long! After we got out of the movie, we ran to Smith so I could get some milk. It was a late night.

On a rare day I don't get to see Dan . . .
I miss seeing his eyes wrinkle with his smile. I miss talking to someone who has quickly become my best friend. I miss his stories. I miss talking about anything and everything together. I miss planning our endless trips doing the things we both love. I miss him coming up behind me and putting his arms around my waist. I miss his laugh. I miss how adorable he and the best part is he doesn't even know it.

Arby's, Recital, and Held Me
Today, Dan texted me asking me if I wanted to go to Arby's again for the second night. I happily agreed!
We sat at Arby's and talked for two hours. I told him about how much I was giving up to date him, but that it was worth it. We talked about our shortest relationships, why they didn't work out, what we were looking for, time in between relationships, and if we regretted any of them.
I told him that I didn't regret any of them, because I grew from each of them. With the end of every relationship, I found something to change within myself for the better.
We ran to my friend from Jerusalem, Becky Perry's, senior recital. Dan fell asleep on my shoulder. He met some of my friends from Jerusalem. He looked so cute with his winter hat! We walked waist to waist to the HFAC, laughing along the way.
Afterwards, we went to Dan's house. I fell asleep in his arms. We both fell asleep until Boo came home.

Tuesday
Dan and I went to a performance of my roommate Alyssa at a Springville Ward Enrichment activity. Alyssa sang with her sister Jenna in it. I really liked it. I liked sitting next to Dan in the chapel and have his arm around me. It makes me think of sitting next to him in a normal church someday. We both really enjoyed the performance.
Afterwards, Dan & I were both hungry. We decided to try getting a free sandwich at Arby's and decided to print the coupon out at my work. So I took him to the hospital to show him around. We tried and tried to get a printer to work and we finally got one to print out. We went and ate across the table from each other. We joked that the other person wasn't thinking of us when we tore our straw wrappers.
After that, we went to Dan's house and I helped him carry his skiis. We sat on Dan's bed and started playing with his camera on his laptop that distorted your face. Konlin heard us laughing histerically upstairs and came up to see what was going on. So the three of us were pretty much peeing our pants laughing so hard. Konlin would shout, "Stop laughing!" because our sides were on fire.
We had a contest to see who could make the worse picture and I won unianimously! It was a fun night!

My Favorite Part of Dan
This is my favorite picture of Dan, because I think it describes him perfectly. It's his smile. I guess I see more of this side of Dan than the front of his face. I'm always next to him and he always grins that grin that makes the skin by his eyes wrinkle. It's the shy, giddy smile that he flashes when he's with me. When Dan is with me, he just has this look of endless bliss. It's so cute! and the sad thing is, I have that look too!The best part of Dan is how he doesn't even know how cute he really is.
I miss him!
I didn't get to see Dan today either. It's been a full 48 hours since I saw him and that's the longest we've been apart for almost 3 weeks now. I miss him. Looking back at the pictures of when I first met him, I actually don't like them much. I think it's because I didn't love him yet.
I can't imagine looking at pictures of when you were first a couple after a lifetime of a marriage. I don't think they would be my favorite memories, because I don't think the way I felt about my husband would be as deep or all encompassing than after years of marriage.
On Sunday, after making dinner together, Dan and I watched my "Rafting the Grand Canyon" video of when I rafted the Colorado River 6 years ago. As I looked at myself from long ago, I couldn't even describe the Alyssa in the video. I am a completely different person and my perspectives on life have completely changed for the better. I like what I've become. I like the way my mission, Jerusalem, my experiences have helped me see life in a different light. I like the way the people I have met have changed me. As I watched the video, I felt a deep sense of gratitude to my Heavenly Father for ALL that He's given me, for all the good times and especially for all the hard times that made me grow in more ways than I would have ever imagined.
Life has so far been an incredible journey. I expect the rest of it to be no less.

Physics Help
I love dating a guy that can help me with my homework, even if it includes physics homework. I think it's hot. Tonight I called Dan a 'nerd'--he truly is, because he's a brainiac. I find it odd that one person can be so many things. He is a nerd, a jock, a ski bum, a river lovin', mountain climbin' guy and he's mormon? How? It's beyond me.
But I love it!

Valkyre
Tonight Dan and went and saw the movie "Valkyre" about a group trying to kill Hitler during the war. Dan had been wanting to go for awhile, so we went to the ten o'clock showing.
I felt bad, because I fell asleep a couple of times during the movie, but woke up barely to see the ending.

Steamboat Colorado

Today, we flew to Vernal and went to church with Dan Rowe and A.J. Rowe. Dan sat next to me in sacrament meeting and Sunday school. After church, we flew to Steamboat Colorado.
We went to a mexican restaurant and Dan put on the sambrero.
On the flight home, Dan held my hand in the back of the plane. Looking back that was a pretty spectacular time to hold my hand.

Valentines Day
For Valentines Day, Dan & I went together to visit my cousin Keith who was in the hospital in Murray.
We went to the store and bought Keith some candy and a magazine to look at. Then we went to see him at the new hospital in Salt Lake.
We talked and laughed with Keith and played with his wheelchair. Mari Lisa and Mark came and we talked to them for a long time afterwards. I gave Keith a hug goodbye and Mark insisted I give him one too!
I'm glad Dan got to meet some of my incredible family. I sure love them!

First Date: X-Country Skiing

For our first date, we were supposed to go ice climbing, but the weather got warmer, so we went x-country skiing again. We went with some of Dan's friends: A.J., Bill, Savannah, and Julianne behind Mt. Timpanogas. There was a lot of snow.
We skiied up the valley and had a snowball fight, built snow scultptors, and ate sack lunches. Dan never fell until the end and it was fun laughing at him. He was really fast and good on skiis. It was really easy to talk to him. We seemed to find interest in the same things, but I honestly didn't know if he would ask me out again.

First Meeting
Two years ago, while the VP of BYU's Outdoor Club, I planned an activity to go cross-country skiing at Alpine Lodge at Sundance. I didn't get to go, even though it was my idea.
So when I found out the club planned on doing it again, I knew I was definately going.
I'm glad I did.
Because before I knew it, I spent the entire night talking and skiing with this guy who seemed more adventurous than me. Usually, the guys I meet on these trips are less outdoorsy than me, but Dan took me by surprise. I was happy when he seemed to follow me around.
By the end of the night, Dan called out to me and invited me to go ice climbing that weekend and got my number! I was estatic! :)
